I’m addressing the current limitation caused by the template containing more pages than the uploaded document, which prevents proper matching.

 

I understand that the limitation is due to the template having more pages than the uploaded document, which prevents a match. However, it would be extremely helpful if the matching logic could be enhanced to consider other factors—such as matching based on template/document names or enabling matching based on Autoplace tags only, regardless of page count.

Thanks for submitting this idea, ​@frnkie. We appreciate you taking the time to share it with us.

The documented behavior is that page count mismatches should prevent template matching, and that remains the official limitation. However, in our own testing, we’ve also observed that it is sometimes possible to match a template even when the uploaded document has more or fewer pages than the template.

An internal ticket has been created to address this discrepancy. For now, please note:

  • Matching may appear to work in certain cases, but this is not guaranteed or supported.

We’ll share updates once we receive further information from the team.
