When a custody transfer rule moves completed documents to a custodian account, when the original sender is also a recipient on an envelope that requires SMS recipient authentication attempts to download the documents directly from the Docusign UI results in a RECIPIENT_AUTHENTICATION_REQUIRED error. This is because clicking Download does not initiate an authentication prompt so it blocks the access. This creates a confusing user experience as the presence of the Download option implies that Docusign will prompt for SMS verification.
The workaround to this is for the user to access the envelope via the email link so that the SMS prompt is triggered.
It would be beneficial for the click of the Download button to trigger the SMS authentication prompt if required to allow the user to download the required documents within the UI.
